MISSION | OUR CALL
Disciple City Church exists to glorify God by unleashing a family of healthy disciple makers in Dallas to reach the world through gathering, neighboring, serving, and sending.
The Church exists to glorify God by making disciples of all nations. At Disciple City Church, our local expression is not program-centered but people-centered. We are called to unleash healthy disciple makers in Dallas to reach the world. We believe that God places gospel transformed people in broken situations where they become the hands and feet of Jesus. Therefore, we are very selective in our initiatives and events, in order to equip our people to do the work of the ministry where they live, work, and play.
Character | OUR DNA
Unleashing a family of healthy disciple makers who are:
REPRODUCING FOLLOWERS OF JESUS
We go to every place and every people group, calling them to follow Jesus. We baptize them, teach them to practice the way of Jesus, and send them out to continue the mission of disciple making. [Matthew 28:18-20; Colossians 1:28-29]
RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE BIBLE
We study and accurately teach the Scriptures. We know every part of God’s word is breathed out by Him, showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, and training us to live God’s way. [Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16-17]
RESPONSIBLE SIBLINGS
In Jesus, we are not like a family; we are a family. As siblings, we actively take responsibility for one another. [Matthew 12:46-50; Galatians 6:2, 9-10]
RIGHTEOUSLY PURSUING JUSTICE
Because of God’s character and our gospel responsibility, we restore shalom to broken relationships, systems, racial constructs, and creation. [Psalm 146:7-9; Amos 5:24; Mark 11:15-17]
REACHING OUT ACROSS CULTURES
We strive to establish the unity Christ made possible through his death. We don’t run from tension; we run to tension, tearing down walls that separate neighborhoods, cities, and different people groups. [Acts 15:1-35; Galatians 2:11-14; Ephesians 2:11-22; Revelation 7:9-10]
Rhythmically Abiding
As followers of Jesus, we adhere to both His teachings and His practices. We prioritize habits of spending time with God. We regularly engage in spiritual disciplines, such as prayer, solitude, sabbath, and fasting. [Matthew 6:1-18; Mark 6:31; Luke 5:15-16; John 15:5]
REGULARLY GIVING
We are called to faithfully manage our time, talents, and treasures as resources for God’s kingdom purposes.
[Galatians 5:13; 1 Peter 4:10-11; Acts 2:44-45;1 Timothy 5:17-18]
